Players of "Overwatch" will be glad to know about the developments for the first-person shooter's (FPS) upcoming new hero, as the developers of the game have announced that the testing for the new female character has begun.

Jeff Kaplan, the game's director at Blizzard, has explained that his development team is now working hard on testing Moira, the new hero, for the game. Moira will be the 27th playable hero in "Overwatch" and will have powers unique from all the others.

"We are well along the path on hero 27. We think the hero is going to be awesome, we think the hero is very needed. We're not really sure when the release date is. The release date is less important than getting the hero right. We have the hero in internal testing," according to Kaplan. This means that players may have to wait indefinitely since the developers are taking their time in ensuring that the hero is as polished as can be in order for the gameplay to be balanced come to the official release.

Moira may also be bringing some drastic changes to the current "Overwatch's" most effective tactic available (meta), where her introduction to the roster might shake things up for the players used to the meta. This remains to be seen, and players will simply have to take Kaplan's word for it.

More will be revealed once the developers are done with their testing, where Moira's moves and skill set will be made public. After that though, there are still closed beta testings for the hero to see how she fits in the balance of the FPS, and this is often done with player-partners of Blizzard and some select few who have access to closed betas.

Other than Moira, new content will also be available for January. With the rare and unique celestial events in mind, Blizzard will be introducing an event called Lunar New Year and Uprising, and both will come with new temporary game modes and cosmetic items for the players to unlock. This means new skins, sprays, and other unlockables outside of the seasonal specials.

Players are advised to stay tuned to Blizzard's announcements in order to catch the updates.
