Nintendo previously teased a revolutionary idea regarding possible cardboard kits for their popular handheld console, the Nintendo Switch. Dubbed, the Nintendo Labo, some gamers have seen what it can do, but here are some details about it, including release dates and price.

The Nintendo Labo is simply a cardboard-based peripheral or kit, which gamers can use with the Nintendo Switch. The selling point here is that, in contrast to gaming kits which are already made, players can make their own customized kit with the Nintendo Labo. Straightforwardly, it is a do-it-yourself (DIY) kind of kit for the Switch.

As the trailer for it already shows, there are different kits featured: a fishing rod, a house, a motorbike, RC cars, and even a robot. Nintendo calls these pre-made kits as "Toy-Cons." It makes use of the Switch's detachable parts, which players will insert in their Toy-Cons to make it work.

The ones featured in the video are just the ones that have been pre-made by Nintendo. Since it is advertised as a DIY, the company also sells customizable Toy-Cons where gamers can make their own. When doing so, the customization set will also provide two stencil sheets, two rolls of tape, and two sticker sheets.

For a cardboard box, many are surprised to see that it apparently can do a lot. The Nintendo Labo is actually designed and even advertised for kids as seen in the video. However, even adults can always make their own Toy-Cons if they wanted to.

The Nintendo Labo kits, both the Variety Kit (all the kits mentioned above except the Robot) and the Robot Kit will cost $69.99 and $79.99 respectively and are already available for pre-orders. Together with the customization set, they will be released on April 20, 2018 for the US and April 27, 2018 for the UK.
