New chaplain for Chapter 1

The Reverend Ruth Lampard has been licensed by the Bishop of Southwark to be the new chaplain of the Chapter 1 charity.

Chapter 1 is a registered social landlord with a strong Christian ethos and provides housing and support to families and single people.

The charity works primarily to provide young people aged 16 to 30 with supported housing and operates 50 projects across the country, with many in the South West.

The head office is in Waterloo, London, and in addition to being chaplain of Chapter 1, Reverend Lampard will also be assistant priest at St John's Waterloo.

She was licensed by the Bishop of Southwark, the Right Reverend Christopher Chessun.

The licensing was attended by Chapter 1 chief executive Geoff Hawkins.
