The Motorola X Phone event will take place in New York on August 1. With just days to go before the release of Moto X, images have been leaked of the new device, giving fans a brief preview of the full details that will soon come to light.

Thursday's event is set to be a full day's set of meetings, according to the invitation. A live stream will likely not be available.

In one photo posted by Slashgear, courtesy of FanaticFone, the front glass panel of the smartphone can be seen. The hole at the top of the glass shows that the flagship device will have a front-facing camera. Other basic features such as headphones, and a microUSB port are expected to be included, according to the photos.

Meanwhile, tech blogger Taylor Wimberly revealed on his Google + account that the Moto X will feature an innovative 'Magic Glass' layer, which is a sheet of Gorilla Glass that molds into a polymer that covers the front and edges of the screen. The glass will wrap around all the edges of the device, meaning that there will be no gap between the back panel.

The phone will also be made from laminated aluminum, making the product both lightweight and strong.

The Moto X will feature a 4.5 inch HD 720p display with 720x1184 resolution, a dual-core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm S4 Pro Processor with Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB Ram, 16 GB storage, 10 mp camera with HDR mode, 2.1 mp front-facing camera, and will run on Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean OS. It will also feature a 2200mAh battery.

Motorala's flagship phone is surprisingly in the mid-range, and rumors suggest that customers may have an option to customize the phone using plastic, metal, wood, carbon fiber, and even ceramics.

Another photo on Slashgear suggest that the phone will also be customizable in over a dozen colors.

Google is set to spend $500 million to promote the Moto X, according to The Wall Street Journal. The phone will launch on all major U.S. carriers – AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile.

Rumored prices for the device is $299 for a 16G model and $349 for 32G.

The Moto X will be the first American smartphone to be designed, engineered and manufactured on U.S. soil. The phones are being manufactured at a plant in Fort Worth, Texas, and the company will reportedly create nearly 2,000 jobs for the area.

Moto X is the first phone launched by Google/Motoral since Google acquired Motorola last year.
