Prior to its official announcement, much hype was given about which characters will make the second round of add-ons to the current installment of the long-running "Mortal Kombat" franchise.

Finally, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive has officially revealed the additional four characters that will make up the Kombat Pack 2 expansion content for "Mortal Kombat X."

According to the press statement that PlayStation Lifestyle got, hardcore players of the current title may look forward to next year, as the Kombat Pack 2 DLC will add four new guest Kombatants to the already-impressive "MKX" roster. The new fighters include Leatherface, the power saw-wielding antagonist of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" film franchise; the Xenomorph from the "Alien" movies; "Mortal Kombat" veteran Bo Rai Cho; and a fusion of Cyrax, Robot Smoke, and Sektor, the machine Tri-Borg.

The statement did not mention any specific release dates but hinted at an early 2016 release. In addition, no price tag was also stated, but if the price for the first DLC pack should be a base figure, the upcoming DLC could also be priced at around $30.

Aside from the press statement, the Kombat Pack 2 expansion content was also officially revealed at this year's "The Game Awards." IGN also managed to upload the official trailer for the reveal.

Before the official reveal, there were already speculations from hardcore followers on who will make it as the next Kombatants in Kombat Pack 2. Two of the announced characters, Bo Rai Cho and Xenomorph, were named in fans' predictions. Meanwhile, other characters that fans guessed would probably make it included Spawn, since it was rumored that creator Todd MacFarlane allowed it; franchise veterans Baraka and Rain; and even some Marvel characters like Wolverine.
