Since fans continue to speculate on which playable character will be included in the upcoming DLC of "Mortal Kombat X," game director Ed Boon recently provided new information regarding the future additions for the popular fighting video game.

In his Twitter account, the director of the long-running fighting game answered a fan who asked if the characters from "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" will be included on the list of new playable characters in the upcoming "Mortal Kombat X" downloadable expansion pack, which will be released next year.

But while it would be fun to see the popular mutant turtles in action in the 10th major installment of "Mortal Kombat" video game series, Boon curtly replied to the fan that it will not happen at the moment.

The news about the future release of "Mortal Kombat X: Kombat Pack 2" DLC first emerged in September, after Boon himself teased that four new playable characters will be included in the game in 2016. However, the game director only shared silhouettes of the upcoming characters without dropping hints about their identity.

Some of the most prevalent rumors regarding the identities of the next additional playable characters for Kombat Pack 2 include Neo from "The Matrix," "Batman" villain The Joker, as well as the legendary adventurer Indiana Jones. However, none of them were confirmed to be included in the game's upcoming expansion pack.

Aside from the additional playable characters, the upcoming downloadable expansion pack will also come with new player skins as well as a brand-new fighting arena.

The first DLC pack for "Mortal Kombat X" also came with four playable characters, including "Friday the 13th" villain Jason Voorhees and Predator, as well as classic "Mortal Kombat" characters Tremor and Tanya.
