Presidential hopeful and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is very displeased with US President Barack Obama after the latter agreed to a nuclear deal with Iran. The Republican stalwart even likened the feared consequence of the agreement to the Holocaust.

"This president's foreign policy is the most feckless in American history. It is so naive that he would trust the Iranians. By doing so, he will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven," Huckabee told Breitbart News.

Should he be elected as President, Huckabee said he would immediately rescind that deal with Iran on the first day he assumes office.

"This is the most idiotic thing, this Iran deal. It should be rejected by both Democrats and Republicans in Congress and by the American people. I read the whole deal. We gave away the whole store. It's got to be stopped," he further said in the interview.

Huckabee might feel strongly against Obama's decisions, especially with regards to the nuke deal, but his Holocaust reference made a lot of people really upset, including US Representative for Florida and head of the Democratic National Committee Deborah Wasserman-Schultz. She demanded that Huckabee apologise for his "cavalier analogies" to Nazi death camps, according to TIME.

Her statements were echoed by the National Jewish Democratic Council, who called Huckabee's statements "unacceptable." In a statement, the council said: "Republicans have fallen over themselves to speak out against Donald Trump's outrageous rhetoric on immigration and veterans. Will they now do the same and speak out against this unacceptable attack against President Obama that smears the memory of Holocaust victims... or will they stand by in silence and implicit approval?"

Despite the backlash, Huckabee's camp has remained firm with regards to his stance and has even reiterated the remarks on his Twitter account (@GovMikeHuckabee).
