According to the latest reports, 2018 would be the year for Apple to unveil its upgraded MacBook lineup. One of the Mac laptops that is expected to receive a major refresh is the MacBook Pro. It is believed that the 2018 version of the Mac Pro will use a new display feature, particularly the oxide display technology, to improve the graphics presentation. The MacBook Pro 2018 is likely to make an appearance at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) to be held this June.

As reported by Forbes, IHS Market is expecting some big improvements in the upcoming MacBook Pro 2018. For one, the MacBook Pro series is thought to make the jump to oxide TFT-based screen panel. Employing the oxide display technology in the MacBook Pro will offer a more vivid display brightness in all four corners of the screen.

Oxide display technology is already being used in some of the high-end Apple hardware today. For one, the new 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display also uses oxide technology, which is responsible for giving the monitor a more vivid color, contrast, and clarity. The current 10.5-unch iPad Pro also includes the same oxide screen feature.

Aside from the screen improvements, the MacBook Pro 2018 is rumored to be the first Mac laptop powered by Apple's very own chipset. The Cupertino-based tech firm is tipped to create the main CPU for its upcoming computers. Although, it has yet to be confirmed if this Apple custom chip will be ready just in time for the MacBook Pro launch this year.

As for the MacBook Pro 2018's release date, it is expected that the WWDC event on June 4 will be used in announcing the company's new Mac products. The previous WWDC events also highlighted the unveiling of new MacBook models, including the current 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar feature. There is no word yet regarding the possible price of the upcoming MacBook Pro, although it is not expected to stray far from the current model's $1,299 price tag.
