Justin Bieber says this Bethel Music worship song puts his 'heart and soul at ease'

Even though he is a hitmaker himself, Canadian pop star Justin Bieber still likes to listen to music created by other people. He is actually a huge fan of worship songs, and he cited one in particular that helps him keep calm through all of life's storms.

On his Instagram account (@justinbieber), the Christian singer posted a screenshot of the song "No Longer Slaves" by Jonathan David and Melissa Helser of Bethel Music. "This song puts my heart and soul at ease," he captioned it.

The song is taken from the album "We Will Not Be Shaken," and it talks about God's powerful message of restoration and freedom.

The lyrics of the song go, "I am surrounded/ By the arms of the Father/ I am surrounded/ By songs of deliverance/ We've been liberated/ From our bondage/ We're the sons and the daughters/ Let us sing our freedom."

Bieber must be going through a difficult time personally. Even though he took home another award award for Top Male Artist during the Billboard Music Awards a week ago, he admitted on Instagram that the award felt "hollow" for him.

"I don't know about these award shows.." he writes. "No disrespect to anybody at any of the shows or the people running it. Nothing but love for you guys and your support. But I don't feel good when I'm there nor after. I try to think of it as a celebration, but can't help feeling like people are rating and grading my performance."

Bieber says all he sees in the audience are fake smiles, and he craves for authenticity that award shows seem to sorely lack. "When I do get these awards, the temptation of putting my worth in what I do is so hard to fight!!! I am privileged and honoured to be recognised by my peers, but in these settings I can't feel the recognition. And I wonder, 'Does anybody else?'"
