Country singing duo Joey and Rory Feek, who is currently battling terminal cancer, had been nominated for a Grammy award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance this year for their song "If I Needed You," but the award eventually went to Little Big Town.

According to Fox News, the Christian couple were over the moon because of their nomination and watched the show at home with their daughter Indiana.

Rory shared on their Facebook page a photo of little Indy holding a toothbrush in front of a mirror while flanked by her two aunts and captioned it, "Indy getting her hair done by her Aunts for Grammy watching (with) her mama and papa tonight (if it's not past her bedtime)."

They earlier told  Entertainment Tonight that they reacted to the announcement with "excitement and tears." They even gushed, "When you love country music as much as we do, to even be nominated for a Grammy for Best Duo/Group Country Vocal Performance is like winning the lottery."

Fellow nominee Blake Shelton, who is also a judge in the singing competition "The Voice," said he would be happy to lose to the couple. "The courage that they as a family have displayed—it's inspirational. It's sad, but it's special at the same time," he said.

Fans of Joey + Rory were undoubtedly upset that they did not win, but they nonetheless showered the couple with sweet and supportive words.

"Rory and Joey, even if you do not win that Grammy tonight just know that in the hearts of your fans you already have a whole shelf full of those golden bad boys!! Much love for you two and baby Indy!" a fan named Julianna Nicoletti wrote.

Kathy Freeman, on the other hand, strongly believes that the award should have gone to the couple. "I for one was thrilled they were nominated for a Grammy. Very disappointed they did not win. This was their only chance left that Joey and Rory will ever have. Nothing against the winners, but they WILL have future chances to win and win again."
