Jessa Seewald from the cancelled TLC show "19 Kids and Counting" is coming to her own defence after comments from unknown sources appeared online saying her pregnancy is "bittersweet" following the revelation of her brother Josh Duggar's sordid past, including his recent admission of having used the Ashley Madison online extramarital dating site to cheat on his wife Anna.
The sources claimed that Jessa is heartbroken that her family's show was cancelled, scrapping earlier plans to show her journey to motherhood.
However, Jessa and her husband Ben are denying this allegation. On his Facebook page: "People are saying Jessa's pregnancy has been 'bittersweet'? According to my wife, people are putting words in her mouth."
For her part, Jessa said: "Seems like the tabloids are never running short of these nameless, faceless 'sources' who supposedly give them 'insider information.' Lol! Who are these people anyway? Smh. Unless they're quoting me, just go ahead and assume it's ain't so."
She said if fans want to know what she's doing or what she's up to lately, all they have to do is follow her through her social media accounts—either on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook—since she's active on all three. Moreover, she and Ben have a family website of their own: www.TheSeewaldFamily.com.
"I speak for myself," she said. "In case you're wondering, my pregnancy has been entirely sweet! Nothing 'bitter' about it. Ben and I are thrilled to be welcoming our first little one into the world in a little over 2 months!! God has blessed us, and we couldn't be happier!"
Ben and Jessa have decided to keep their baby's gender under wraps and will reveal it only during the date of delivery itself, which is on Nov. 1, the same day last year when the young couple tied the knot.
There is a rumour that Jessa might be carrying twins. Her mother Michelle admitted that she might have been the one who started the rumor when she commented that twins run on her side of the family.
