Intimate worship from Bethel Music

As the name suggests, The Loft Sessions were recorded live in a refurbished rustic loft. The intimate worship sessions brought together just a few friends and family and recorded over several nights.

The collection includes original songs by Brian and Jenn Johnson, Jeremy Riddle and emerging artists Steffany Frizzell, Hunter Thompson and Matt Stinton.

“Incorporating several different musical styles, we wanted to create a new sound, something that shakes the stereotypes of what people might think Bethel Music is,” says Brian.

“The strength of what we accomplished is in the community of artists that came together.”

Jeremy said the project was like “stumbling upon a new way to create or write songs”.

“I’m used to refining songs before going into the production of a record. The writing, refining process for this album all happened during the production, which is kind of unusual, but it worked beautifully!”

The natural disasters of the past year were the inspiration behind Jenn’s song, “Come to Me”, one of the stand out tracks of the album.

In the wake of earthquakes, tornadoes, floods and other disasters, she found herself contemplating what God was saying in all the chaos and heard him say: “You don’t have to worry about anything, just come to me.”

The Loft Sessions are out now from Kingsway.
