International Evangelical Student Leadership Forum Kicks off

The International Fellowship Evangelical Student (IFES) Leadership Formación for Central Europe will run from 1st August to 12th August in the town of Giżycko, the North-Eastern part of Poland. The conference aims to provide guidance for all students involved in leadership in a university group setting.

Prominent IFES leaders in Europe are invited as guest speakers. Andrew Fellow of L'Abri Fellowship has been lecturing throughout Central and Eastern Europe. Robert Grahmann is the Director of Training for the IFES Region of Eurasia. He has 25 years of ministry experience to students and staff in North America, Europe, and Africa with the IFES and InterVarsity/USA. Charlie Hadijev, previous General Secretary of the IFES movement in Bulgaria, will also attend.

Each day will consist of a morning Bible study, followed by practical seminars, workshops, teamwork, mentoring and outdoor activities which will make up part of the overall training programme.

The conference is expected to gather students from up to 50 countries in Europe and Eurasia. The setting is ideal to experience what it means to build up relationships based on the love of Christ and to build up a team spirit. The main language of the conference will be English.

Dr. Robert Grahmann, Director of Training for the IFES Region of Eurasia said, "... (The Formación). This kind of intense, 10 day experience tend to be life-changing for students, not just giving them a vision for ministry but also ‘forming’ them deeply in Christ, initiating patterns of spiritual development that often last for the rest of their lives. It is real discipleship, in the best sense of that word..."

A student who attended the previous conference said, "I'm an instrument in God's hand and He really wants to use me. Everybody can make a difference!"

The International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) is an international network stretching across 145 countries. National movements all share the following three major objectives: Evangelism, Formación (promoting a life of discipleship) and world mission.
