The rumored HTC One M9 may get a phablet variant dubbed as "Hima Ace Plus" that will share similar specs and features with the flagship smartphone.

A report from Portugal website 4gnews.pt stated the rumor spilling on some of the alleged specifications of the device. According to the report, the HTC Hima Ace Plus will sport the same 5.5-inch screen display with quad HD (2560 x 1440) pixel resolution. The report said that it will have extremely thin bezels, which means that the device will not be as massive despite its huge screen panel.

Under the hood, users will be treated with the latest octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC with 64-bit architecture clocked at 2.3 GHz. This will be shipped with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The handset will also sport a microSD slot for additional storage.

Other features of the handset are 20-megapixel back camera and 4 Ultrapixel front-facing camera, 3000 mAh battery capacity, and BoomSound speakers on the front of the device. The smartphone will surely run with Android Lollipop OS topped with HTC Sense 7 UI. Moreover, the HTC Hima Ace Plus will feature a fingerprint sensor.

These features are quite similar to the specs and features of the HTC One M9 Hima, which hints that the phablet is a high-end device.

Unfortunately, the phablet is predicted to arrive months later after the announcement of the HTC's flagship smartphone. There are speculations that the new phablet is a revamped model of the original smartphone-tablet line of the company. There are also predictions that the HTC Hima Ace Plus will be introduced in the third quarter of this year. Meanwhile, the HTC One M9 Hima is predicted to arrive at the Mobile World Congress in March.

However, there is no confirmation from the Taiwanese manufacturer about the devices it has lined up this year.
