HTC has a proven track record of rolling out the latest Android software to its devices not long after Google has announced it.
HTC developer LlabTooFer revealed the timeline of the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update to HTC devices. HTC One (M8) and HTC One (M7) will get the OS update in January or February. Meanwhile, HTC Desire EYE, HTC One (M8) Dual SIM, HTC One (M7) Dual SIM, HTC One (E8), HTC One (E8) Dual SIM, and HTC Butterfly 2 should receive the update in January to March. The newly-announced Android 5.0 Lollipop packs a "new design language" which is dubbed as Material Design. The new design is way cleaner, and the mobile software packs new navigation buttons that are a triangle, circle and square.
The mobile software will also pack new features such as improved notifications, lockscreen, multi-tasking, notification bar, and better battery. The new OS will also greatly improve the security of the new devices as it will enable users to unlock their smartphones when they physically near enough to a device like an Android Wear smartwatch. Thus, users will be able to open their devices without the need to enter a password.
