'Hitman' gameplay news: Elusive targets are back with corresponding rewards

The rewards for offing the elusive targets of "Hitman"Io Interactive

Fans of "Hitman" should get their garrote and silverballers ready, as the game's elusive targets are back for a limited time.

Agent 47 and the players will once again get to prove their assassination skills with the newly reactivated elusive targets in the episodic "Hitman" title from 2016. Developed by Io Interactive, the game will be bringing back the Twin, the Bookkeeper, the Ex-dictator, the Guru, and more. The catch is that players will only get one shot at them, and they will appear for just a limited amount of time.

Should the players fail and let their targets escape, die in-game, or run out of time, then they might not have another chance to hunt down the elusive targets as these can only be killed once. How they are assassinated, however, is up to the players' creativity and resourcefulness. The game allows multiple ways to take down targets, which include poisoning, machine malfunction, extreme sports, surgery, terror attacks, the good old fashioned bullet to the head, or strangulation.

The encore of the elusive targets began on Friday, Nov. 17 with the Forger. Players who have already killed him before will not be qualified for the assassination again, sadly, but those who previously failed can view this as another chance.

Players who are successful in carrying out these bonus hits will be rewarded with cosmetic apparel in-game, where killing an elusive target in a specific mission area will reward the players with a costume variant for the corresponding mission. Stacking up on elusive target kills will awards players with the Absolution Suit, Blood Money Suit, and Signature Suit, in respective thresholds of 5, 10, and 13 kills. Fans will recall that these suits are the ones which 47 wore in previous "Hitman" games.

For those who do it in style, specifically with a "Silent Assassin" rating, more amazing prizes are in store. One exclusive kill with a silent rating will unlock the Terminus Suit, while having five silent kills will reward players with the Winter Suit with Gloves.

"Hitman" and its elusive targets are now available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows.
