Hillary Scott and her family are talking about their new album LOVE REMAINS, which they created in hopes of serving as their family's legacy.

Scott says LOVE REMAINS is a collection of faith-based songs, which includes "Thy Will," "Come To Jesus," and "Beautiful Messes." The underlying theme of all these songs is their faith and dedication to God. Scott says these things have helped them through some of the worst moments in their lives.

"We've grown to love and appreciate it so much, which is that peace in the midst of storms, which is that hope when it's hard to look around and find reason to. We have a Saviour. We have a Creator who has a plan. We trust that plan even when it doesn't always make sense," she says.

Despite making an album professing their faith, Scott hopes people won't assume that she and her family have their acts all together. "We don't. That's why we go to these songs. That's why we lean on these songs and what these songs are about—which is our faith and our relationship with God," she says.

Scott hopes that people who are "on the fence" listening to their music will give it a go and "see where your heart takes you." One of the best things about faith-based songs, according to Scott, is their ability to lead people towards the right path.

Scott collaborated with her father Lang, mother Linda, sister Rylee, and husband Chris in making the perfect mix of contemporary Christian and folk family record.

"Thy Will," in particular, is a message of hope Scott wrote during a dark chapter in her life. Scott suffered from a sudden miscarriage from her second pregnancy during the fall of 2015, a time when she desperately needed God's guidance.

"The process of making this album has not only been creatively inspiring, but I've also really been able to grow as a person," says Scott. "With all that we've gone through, we have been able to process everything together while solidifying the strong foundation that we have in our family."
