The 'Faith Award 2003' Declared

Faith Publications instituted Faith Award in 1994 to honour and recognize God's servants who contributed significantly for God and society of this nation.

In 1994, it honoured the selected Christians in the All India Christian Leaders Seminar held in Talkatora Stadium in the presence of 2900 delegates form all over India, Nepal and Bhutan. It could have been the first meeting of this nature. Rev. Kurian Thomas (Itarsi, MP for Pioneer Evangelism), Rev. P S. Samuel (Raipur, MP ?Pioneer Evangelism), Dr A P Daniel (Angamaly, Kerala ?First bi-lingual Bible of India), Mr. John Joseph (Delhi ?Social service) and Saju John Mathew (Kerala, author of Pentecostal Christian History) were honoured.
Later, it also recognised and honoured the contributions of Mrs. Marge Wolfe (New Delhi) and Dr. (Mrs.) Gladys Stains (Orissa ?social work and Christian testimony).

In the year 2002, on 16th February, the following notable servants of God in Kerela were honoured in a magnificent ceremony held at Renewal Center, Ernakulam in the presence of eminent personalities and Christian leaders. Dr D Babu Paul, IAS, (for the contribution in Christian literature.), Mr. J C Dev (for his contribution in Christian literature and struggle against atheism), Sister Joan Chunkapura (for Christian writing, crusade against crime, alcoholism and drug addiction), Mr. P U Thomas (for mercy ministry to the poor, needy and psychiatry patients), Mr. J V Peter (for contribution in Christian music), Mrs. Mary Kovoor (for Powerful female voice in the pulpit and vivid witness of Pentecostal faith), Dr Habel G Varghese ( for Christian literature), Mr. V M Mathew (for Christian literature, charitable work, and social development).

Now, this year, it will honour the following Christian distinguished personalities in the society:

Dr. A F Pinto, Mumbai (for enhancing Education all over India),

Dr. Irish G R Paul, Malkangiri (for social and compassionate service),

Dr. Bishop M A Thomas, Kota Recipient of Padma Shree 2001 (for outstanding social work),

Mr. C Dozuala, Aizwal (social, economic and cultural development),

Dr. Richard Howell, Delhi (for Evangelism & Church Unity),

Rev. P.M. Thomas, Gorakhpur (for pioneer mission work),

Rev. Ernest Mall, Punjab (for Christian music),

Dr. Thomas Mathews, Udaipur (for pioneer mission work),

Ms. Mercy Mathew alias ‘Dayabhai' Barool (for development of tribal women),

Late Mr. Max D Strong, Tanakpur (for evangelism and upliftment of poor people)

Pastor S. Joseph, Mumbai (for evangelism and church movement).

The award ceremony in the presence of 1500 Christian leaders all over india, will be held on March 14th afternoon at Campion Auditorium, Bhopal. The entry is open to all.
