In line with the release of the new Hero 6 Black from GoPro, its Karma drone has been given two new updates called "Follow" and "Watch."

When users want to stay in place while they move, the Watch mode will be very helpful. The Follow mode lets the drone track a user while moving across the field. GoPro fans thought that these two new modes will also mean a new drone. Although, the update was still positively received by patrons of the brand.

These two new features may not be appealing to the action-driven crowd, but some users say that filming with a Karma following your car does not sound half as bad, in fact it would be a good combo for bikers as well.

Not having to use an actual tripod during Watch mode is the one key feature many have missed. The drone will keep the user in the shot while hovering, rotating in a stable manner as its tracker works.

Ten different waypoints in the cable-cam mode will be very useful for users to map-out complex paths. This can also create swooping shots because the Karma can follow the user in advance. Users who like to take shots under the cover of trees during hikes will find this new feature very convenient.

The Karma drone is clearly not yet ready for the field of filmmaking. A review posted on The Verge stated the GoPro was never intended for that kind of productivity-oriented kind of feature. The simplicity of its function and design is the strong point of the Karma.

It may be as good and flashy as the DJI Spark. However, for entry level aerial shots used for studying how that field of photography works, the Karma drone will do wonders for beginners. Not to mention, the drone is from GoPro, so photos and videos will always be at top-tier quality.
