A "virtually indestructible" Bible may be coming to stores soon.

Forever Publishing has created a Bible that is dirt-proof, tear-proof, and waterproof. The company calls the innovation the "Forever Bible," and guarantees it will last an eternity.

The technologically-advanced paper in the Forever Bible uses no trees, and is 24 times stronger than ordinary paper, according to the manufacturers. The Bible "literally walks on water" – as it is able to float and the pages are not damaged by liquid.

A demonstration of the Forever Bible's capabilities shows ketchup, jelly, chocolate syrup, coffee, dirt, and more being dumped onto the Bible's pages, and easily sprayed off with a water hoses. Notes written with ink pen in the Bible's margins and highlighted passages remain intact. While ordinary pencils and pens work with the unique Bible, a special highlighter, if desired, must be purchased through Forever Publishing.

The Bible is printed in three forms—King James Version, New International Version, and English Standard Version—and is offered in a variety of stylish covers. The prices range from $40 to $60.

Forever Publishing is running a Kickstarter campaign for "40 days and 40 nights" to raise money for the book, and are less than $4,000 away from meeting their $30,000 goal. There are 21 days left in the campaign, and donors will receive Forever Bibles, highlighters, Forever Journals – which use the same technology and the Bibles – and more.

The Kickstarter campaign is not just about selling Bibles, however. The company stated that they have a higher purpose.

"Our goal isn't profits—it is spreading the word of God," they said on their website.

"For every Forever Bible that you purchase, we are able to donate additional Forever Bibles to missionary sites across the planet, giving people their very first Bible."

Forever Publishing said their goal is that "one day, everyone on Earth will have a Bible that can go with them everywhere they can go, everyday of their lives."
