A free radioactive wasteland awaits people who purchase the HTC Vive virtual reality (VR) headset, as "Fallout 4 VR" is will be bundled with every sale of the headset.

Starting last Monday, Oct. 2, people who buy the HTC Vive VR headset will also be getting a redemption code for the VR adaptation of Bethesda's award-winning roleplaying game (RPG) "Fallout 4." The VR version of the game, however, is not yet available and will be released on Dec. 12.

People who bought the Vive and the pre-order of the VR version of the game separately before the announcement will be compensated with three free months of its subscription gaming service called Viveport. The said subscription service will let owners play any of Viveport's 200+ games and usually costs $6.99 per month.

HTC Vive is priced at $599 with "Fallout 4 VR," making it an attractive deal since the game costs $60 separately. The Verge, however, warned buyers to be cautious, reminding potential buyers of the usual pre-order risks and of "Fallout's" tendency to be unpolished at launch.

Still, it is one of the biggest games to be announced for the VR headset, and it is a full game, not a spin-off like the number of VR games from big franchises. One thing to keep in mind is that "Fallout 4 VR" is temporarily exclusive only to the HTC Vive, meaning VR enthusiasts who wanted the Oculus Rift and "Fallout 4" at the same time are out of luck. 

"Fallout 4" is post-apocalyptic RPG from Bethesda Game Studios that allows players to explore its vast wasteland riddled with dangerous mutants and weird cults. The game has won more than 200 'Best Of' awards, most of which are 'Game of the Year' titles. As such, bundling its VR version with the HTC Vive, may be one of the new device's strongest selling points.

Interested buyers may purchase the HTC Vive bundle or redeem the game's code until Dec. 31. The promo will not be valid for any purchases prior to Oct. 2.
