EMI recently announced its premium DRM (Digital rights management)-free, higher-quality download with new partners Apple iTunes.

Apple launched its iTunes Plus option this week, featuring music from EMI artists, including EMI CMG's (Christian Music Group) entire digital catalogue.

Songs are available in a higher quality DRM-free format.

iTunes Plus downloads from EMI are free of DRM, which means they are now playable on range of different devices and computers and can be burned to CD.

iTunes is also offering customers a simple, one-click option to easily upgrade their library of previously purchased EMI content to the iTunes Plus versions.

In addition, EMI music videos are now available in iTunes Plus versions with no change in price.
