Derick Dillard, husband of Jill Duggar from "19 Kids and Counting," sparked a heated debate on his social media account recently after he posted a photo with an accompanying joke about the dreaded Zika virus.

On his Instagram account (@derickdillard), Dillard posted a photo of himself purchasing an OFF! mosquito spray then captioned it, "I knew I could count on Walmart to have what I need to combat that Zika virus!"

A lot of people were not pleased with his sense of humour. Derick, Jill, and their son Israel David are currently in Central America working on their new ministry. Fans are actually concerned that Jill might be pregnant again at a time when the Zika outbreak is growing more rampant.

"Countries in Central America are literally advising women to not get pregnant for the next two years because of the Zika virus and the incredible dangers it poses. Derrick would be more responsible if he posted a pic buying condoms," Instagram user Karla Fisher commented.

Another netizen wrote, "You're just thinking about this now??? Zika was reported in Central America months ago. You need to he more proactive and less reactive."

Several others urged Dillard to get his family out of Central America, while others strangely obsessed about his facial hair.

"Don't they have barbers or any scissors? He looks awful! Sorry, my opinion," someone noted. Another hilarious comment read: "Derick is starting to look like Robin Williams in 'Jumanji.'"

On the other hand, loyal Duggar family supporters defended the Dillards and told bashers to back off. "What they do with their lives is none of your business. Just remember the little snap of a picture shows you just a tiny bit of their lives. You have no clue what they are really doing," someone said.

"The hair doesn't stop him from being a good husband or parent. If Jill loves him that way, then why all the negative comments?" another added.
