Creationist Ken Ham says atheists aren't 'fighting for the truth but suppressing it'

Atheists such as "the Science Guy" Bill Nye and Richard Dawkins are constantly making arguments against Christianity. Answers in Genesis founder Ken Ham believes that they are aggressively doing so because they are "desperately trying to justify their rebellion against the truth."

Deep down, Ham says these atheists know that they are sinners in need of salvation, but they simply refuse to submit to God who created them. If they really did not believe in God, Ham says they would not be wasting so much time speaking against Him and trying to disprove His existence.

"They claim that they care about people and argue that believing in Creation is harmful to society. But something deeper is going on. They aren't fighting for the truth, but suppressing it," Ham writes on his blog.

At the same time, Ham says the more atheists wage war against biblical Christianity, the more they are confirming the truth of God's Word.

"God's Word also makes it clear that the reason even atheists use words like right and wrong and good and bad is because God has given man a conscience—God's law written on our hearts," he adds.

Ham says an atheist once asked him, "If there is a God, then why doesn't He come and show Himself to us?"

He simply replied, "He did, and they nailed Him to a cross."

This means that those who scoff about God's existence are "willingly ignorant," because they are deliberately covering their eyes and ears to the truth, he says.

Romans 1 also says that God has given man the ability to know of His existence, so there is no reason why atheists should vehemently deny His Truth.

Romans 1:19-20 reads: "What may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse."
