Christian Youth Festival - Creation Fest - Hits Devon

Creation Fest, a Christian youth festival that turns the “being Christian is boring” stereotype on its head, has hit Devon this weekend, with performances by top Christian music artists including The Sonflowerz, Universal Royalty and Glasgow-based band Superhero.

The three-day event held in Woolacombe, Devon, is a fresh and funky Christian youth festival which combines their interests with the worship of God, and the best part is that it is absolutely free. All you have to do is turn up!

Creation Fest states its aim as being: “to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ through contemporary Christian music,” as well as to “see Christians established in the basics of Christianity, the authority of the scripture proclaimed and Churches brought together in unity.”

The festival offers skate ramps and 5-aside football alongside a packed schedule of daily ‘Back-to-Basics’ seminars looking at such topics as ‘The origin of life’, ‘The Christian and the Bible’, and ‘Evolution: Fact or Fairy Tale’.

The Skate course is open to all skateboarding and roller blade enthusiasts, as well as running demos by Jud Heald and Jared Lee from Untitled Skate Boards.

The Main Stage line-up includes an impressive selection of musicians and groups from the Christian music scene. The Cross Movement, a Christian Hip-Hop group from Philadelphia, will no doubt draw in the crowds to the Main Stage on Saturday and Sunday night, with the talented American Phil Wickham closing the set on all three nights of the Festival.

Sunday evening will also see the UK premier of Noah’s Arc, which chronicles the story Noah Snyder and his journey to becoming one of the world’s most top surfers.

Creation Fest was first held in 2002 as a one-day event but has since grown to a full three-day festival event owing to its huge success.
