19 Kids and Counting's Ben Seewald, the husband of Jessa Duggar is reminding Christians to "examine" themselves and check what their true motives are in life: is it to honour Jesus' name, or theirs?

On his Instagram account (@ben_seewald), Ben shared a photo of a man with his arms open towards the heavens and he captioned it, "Christians live to promote Jesus' fame and honor His name. If your promoting yourself and living for yourself, then check yourself - examine yourself."

He mentioned the Bible verse 2 Corinthians 13:5, which says: "Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realise that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?"

Seewald regularly shares Bible verses and his thoughts on God's word on his social media accounts. Recently, he shared a photo of a sprawling tree and a well, and wrote, "Y'all see this tree? It's planted by a well. It's roots go deep. It is a strong tree because it's nourished by the water."

Seewald explained that Christians should take note of what the photo stands for. Just like the tree, Christians should "be planted in God's word" and "abide in Christ."

He then shared Psalm 1 and John 15.  Psalm 1 compares the righteous to the ungodly. Its first verse says, "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful."

Meanwhile, John 15 quotes Jesus as He compares Himself to a vine. The first two verses read: "I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit."
