The Rt Rev Bernard Longley, who is the Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster, as well as the Rt. Revd. Thomas McMahon of the Diocese of Brentwood, have offered their full endorsement of the exciting prayer event.

Rev Longley said, "It is very encouraging that our Churches across a wide spectrum of cultures and backgrounds are coming together at Pentecost to pray for London, its people and their needs.

"I would warmly encourage my brothers and sisters in the Catholic communities across London to join us at the West Ham Football Stadium so that we can witness to our Christian faith together in this remarkable way."

The Global Day of Prayer will see thousands of Christians from all denominations and backgrounds descend upon West Ham FC's stadium in East London to pray for the capital and the nation.
