New Year celebrations are always special for Christian country singer Carrie Underwood and her husband National Football League (NFL) player Mike Fisher. The New Year signals new hopes and beginnings for them as a family, just like everybody else. However, there is also something extra special about the holiday for them.

Underwood shared a throwback black and white selfie of her and her husband on her Instagram account (@carrieunderwood)" and wrote, "Not only is it #NewYearsEve but it's also a very important anniversary for me and @mfisher1212#FirstDate #FirstKiss Our lives were forever changed from that night on. I wouldn't change a thing! I love you baby!"

Fans gushed over Underwood and Fisher's special celebration. "Awwww. You two are so cute. You definitely give me hope that true love and soulmates exist," a fan commented, while another added: "You guys are such a good example for other couples."

As for Fisher, he expressed his love for Underwood by posting a photo of his wife caring for their young son Isaiah Michael. "Grateful for these 2!!" the athlete said. "15' brought a game changer in Isaiah! I can now say there's nothing better than being a dad and he's blessed with the best mom in the world! Can't wait to see what God has in store for 16'!"

Fisher's supporters agreed with him that fatherhood is the best thing in the world. "There is nothing more precious than your children. Enjoy every moment. Happy New Year to you & your family," someone greeted him.

To welcome 2016, Underwood joined Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve in Times Square, New York. She sang several songs from her new album Storyteller including "Smoke Break," "Heartbeat," and "Before He Cheats."
