The long-running singing contest American Idol will be entering into its final season next year, and it's sad to think that the show that has successfully launched several careers will be bidding the small screen goodbye.

One of its most successful contestants, Christian country singer Carrie Underwood, is one person who will definitely miss the show. On her Instagram account (@carrieunderwood), the singer shared a throwback photo of her performing on the American Idol stage. The singer was wearing an animal print dress with a studded belt, and she was flashing a huge smile to the audience.

"So hard to believe it's been 10 years! I'm forever grateful to American Idol for changing my life!" she captioned it, then added the hashtag "blessed."

Back then, the gorgeous Underwood sported a completely different look - something she now describes as her "crunchy hair" phase.

"I tend to have a natural curl in my hair anyway, but not a whole lot. When I was in college I would put a lot of product in my hair and force it to be curly. And I definitely did that my first Idol audition! I call it my 'crunchy' hair. That I might like to undo if I could," she told HuffPost.

The new mum to Isaiah Michael Fisher now sports sleek blonde locks and likes to keep her make-up simple. Underwood earlier said that each woman is beautiful in her own way, and people just need to know how to highlight their assets.

"It's all about being confident, keeping things uncomplicated and fresh and pretty, bringing out that natural beauty that I believe every woman possesses," she explained. "You know, there's something about everybody that's like no other and is absolutely gorgeous and it's all about enhancing that."
