When "The View" host Candace Cameron Bure wore a "Jesus Saves, Bro" sweatshirt on the show, she was accused by some viewers of trying to push her religion on non-Christians.

The debate over Bure's motives in wearing the sweatshirt extended into Facebook when she posted a photo of it on her Facebook page. "Jesus Saves, Bro. Shirt by @imperishableclothingco," she captioned it.

The criticisms immediately flooded in after the post. Facebook user Damian Norman said it's unfair for Christians to claim that there is only one God, Jesus Christ, who can save only those who believe in Him, arguing that there are many non-Christians particularly in countries where Christians are only a minority.

"So who saves them?" Norman asked. "None of this seems very fair, does it? Seems out of character for a merciful 'God' to give certain people an advantage based on where they happen to be born. Jesus saves? Stop being silly."

Marge Robertson wrote that since Bure wore her "Jesus Saves, Bro" shirt, she should not find offence when those practicing different beliefs does the same.

"Religion should be a personal issue, [and you should] not put your beliefs on to someone else," she said. "You can't complain now if an atheist comes on and wears a sweatshirt wearing his beliefs. You have now opened Pandora's box."

Meanwhile, Ann Ragusi commented that "wearing a shirt doesn't show your Christianity. It doesn't get you into heaven."

While many people criticised Bure for wearing a distinctive T-shirt, many others lauded her for promoting her faith.

Dishman Farms said, "Not sure how wearing a shirt like this is pushing your religion on others. That's what is wrong with our world. Wear it with pride Candace Cameron Bure!"

Stanna Riordan Breen thanked Bure for being "such a wonderful woman of God."

Many others also cited Bure as the reason why they still watch "The View."
