A report slams rumors that Brad Pitt offered Angelina Jolie $100 million to speed up their divorce settlement.

September 2016 marked the end of one of Hollywood's highest profile marriages, when Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt, after two years of marriage. The "Salt" actress cited irreconcilable differences for their divorce.

Over a year later, the former power couple has yet to finalize their legal separation, and rumors have been circulating that the "Fight Club" actor has been consistently and increasingly offering his ex wife an expensive sum of money just to get their divorce over with. The latest of which was allegedly $100 million.

The rumors add that Jolie has refused all the offers, as the 42-year-old actress and film director is still hoping to reconcile with her former flame.

Gossip Cop, however, says there is no truth to the rumors. According to the media outlet, a source close to the situation said the rumors are "completely false."

Contrary to reports that Jolie is stalling the divorce, Gossip Cop says the former couple is just privately working out the details.

The rumors could have been fueled by the actress' recent podcast interview with Awards Chatter, where she shared that she tried to save their marriage by working together in the same film in 2015.

"I wanted us to do some serious work together, and I wanted to see him do that kind of work... But there was a heaviness during that situation that carried on," she shared.

Jolie was talking about the film "By the Sea," a drama that she wrote about a couple going through a period of grief after the wife suffers two miscarriages. The actress shared she later on questioned why she wrote that exact piece, and why they both had a heavy feeling while filming it.

Pitt and Jolie share six children -- Maddox, 16, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 9.
