The city of Bogotá, Colombia, held its annual gathering of Christians in the Simón Bolívar Park last Friday.

Over a million people from the city and visitors from around Colombia met together to celebrate the past year, thanking God for his goodness in 2013 and to commit the coming year to him as well.

It is the biggest Christian gathering in the whole continent, with the largest screen in Latin America, a huge stage and a fireworks show to end the day.

Pastors Ricardo and Maria Patricia Rodriguez, founders of the Worldwide Revival Center - the biggest Hispanic church of Latin America - created the event seven years ago, and hosted it again this year.

They first saw a need to create a worship event for prayer and thanksgiving in 2006, and the city has seen close to a million individuals gather during the last weekend of the year ever since.

The theme of this year's gathering was 'We are going for more', and saw unprecedented numbers gather together in worship.

"Our pastors have the vision that one day Bogotá will be called the 'City of God'," explained Juliana Guzman, spokesperson for Worldwide Revival Center, told The Christian Post.

"Years ago, the Lord showed them a map of Colombia, it was dry and broken. But then, showers of rain made it blossom and prosper. This is the revival that we are experiencing. Every person in Bogotá, Colombia, and the world needs to know what is happening here because it is for them too."
