Bible Society Releases BBC's 'Miracles of Jesus' Study Materials

The Miracles of Jesus, one of the BBC's most lavish religious documentary-drama series to date, has now been made available to churches, youth group leaders and home groups together with extensive study and discussion materials.

The Miracles of Jesus resource pack has been created by the Bible Society to help groups gain the most from the series by exploring the identity of Jesus in a fresh way, Christian Today has been told.

Michael Pfundner, Bible Society's Bible and church development officer said, "The television series is absolutely thought provoking, and it leaves you wanting more. Using the complete resource challenges people to delve deeper to discover what makes age old events so powerful and relevant to the Christian faith."

The Miracles of Jesus resource pack includes the complete three-part series on DVD, free downloadable materials, an online forum, group activities, discussion topics and background notes.

The Daily Telegraph described the television series presented by Rageh Omaar, the BBC's former Middle East correspondent, as "visually stunning and engaging".

It uses state-of-the-art visual effects to depict the ministry of Jesus and how he was seen in the first-century Middle Eastern world by his followers, enemies and even himself.

Rageh Omaar said, "Coming from a Muslim background, I am fascinated by this man Jesus. He has changed the lives of millions of people ... I think its fair to help people understand why."

Praise for the series has also come from leading church figures. Captain Jim Currin, Executive Secretary of the Churches Together in England Group for Evangelisation said, "It is a bold experiment which I think works well, giving Christians a valuable opportunity to talk about our Christian faith in natural conversation."
