Belfast sell-out for Keith and Kristyn Getty

Tickets have been snapped up for Keith and Kristyn Getty's latest tour.

The three Belfast gigs - played last night, tonight and tomorrow - are completely sold out.

The Northern Celtic Islands Tour kicked off at Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall on Wednesday in front of a capacity crowd.

After Belfast, it's on to Londonderry next Tuesday, followed by Inverness (6 June), Gateshead (7 June), Aberdeen (8 June), Edinburgh (9 June), and Glasgow (10 June).

"We are humbled by the enthusiasm of our friends in Liverpool and Belfast," said Keith.

"These concerts bring people together to sing to God who created us, to strengthen the body of Christ. We’re thrilled to join with magnificent choirs and musicians with the hope of encouraging believers in their faith."

Accompanying them on the tour are the All Souls, New Scottish and New Irish Choirs and Orchestras, and fellow hymn writer Stuart Townend.

The concerts include performances of some of Keith and Kristyn's new hymns from the forthcoming album 'Hymns for the Christian Life'.

Some old favourites also feature in the mix, including "In Christ Alone", "The Power of the Cross", and "O Church Arise".

"The band accompanying us on tour features a group of highly-acclaimed musicians from both sides of the Atlantic, creating an amazing fusion of our own special 'greengrass' music," said Kristyn.

The Gettys, from Lisburn, took America by storm last December with their successful ‘Joy - An Irish Christmas’ album tour, which played to sell-out crowds in 15 cities across the country.
