There has not been much confirmed information about "Attack on Titan" season 2, until now. Fans have been waiting for the new season for quite some time now and have been relying on the speculated 2015 rollout. Kodansha and Wit Studio were too hard to pin down for an announcement or two in the past few weeks but, to everyone's surprise, the premiere of the first compilation film "Attack on Titan Part I: Crimson Bow and Arrow" became the venue of the pronouncement of their season 2 plans.

After taking the stage and cutting a huge cake in the greeting event, voice actors Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa), Yuuki Kaji (Eren), Marina Inoue (Armin) and director Tetsuro Arakias made clear that fans won't be seeing the second season of "Attack on Titan" next year but in 2016, Anime News Network and Crunchy Roll reported. In the same occasion, it was also revealed that the second live-action film, "Attack on Titan Part II: Wings of Freedom," will hit theaters in Japan on June 27, 2015. The live-action movie stars Haruma Miur, Kanata Hongou, Kiko Mizuhara, Takahiro Miura, Hiroki Hasegawa, Nanami Sakuraba, Satoru Matsuo, Satomi Ishihara, ShÅ« Watanabe, Jun Kunimura, Taki Pierre, Rina Takeda, and Ayame Misaki.

Original video animations (OVA) are also on the horizon. The first one will be released on Dec. 9 this year, which is titled "Attack on Titan: No Regrets." The next one is scheduled to debut on April 9 next year.

While the wait was prolonged, fans would be happy to know that the highly-anticipated second season for "Attack on Titan" is indeed in the pipeline. While they test their patience even more for the 2016 rollout to transpire, fans have also been promised a massive Marvel manga crossover. According to Air Herald, Japanese Brutus magazine released an artwork depicting a battle between Spiderman and a female titan, while Captain America, Black Widow and Hawkeye stay close behind in the hope of overthrowing Titans and ending the chaos altogether.

Marvel Comics talent scout C.B. Cebulski revealed the news through Twitter, saying the plotline is being developed by "Attack on Titan" creator Hajime Isayama while the artwork will be courtesy of Gerardo Sandoval. There will be Japanese and English versions of the manga, as it will be released internationally.
