It is being speculated that the continuation of the anime adaptation of "Shingeki no Kyojin" will premiere by the second half of the year. However, although there already is a general release window, it is more likely that season 2 of "Attack on Titan" will start its episode runs during the latter months, if the creators decide to follow closely the events currently unfolding in the original manga series.

There is a standing commitment between mangaka Hajime Isayama and "Attack on Titan" anime director Tetsuro Araki. Reportedly, the two agreed that in order for the show to continue, the original "Shingeki no Kyojin" manga will have to be at least four story arcs ahead of the "Attack on Titan" anime. Given that the current storyline is only two arcs ahead of the climax in season 1, the "Attack on Titan" development team will have to wait a bit longer to continue with the anime story, since the "Shingeki no Kyojin" manga is slowly – albeit steadily – progressing.

According to Crossmap, if the creative team of "Attack on Titan" will follow through with how the story unfolds in "Shingeki no Kyojin," it will be some time before fans may see the season 2 continuation, since the ongoing events will have to add at least two more arcs before the upcoming season commences.

Meanwhile, should the upcoming season of "Attack on Titan" remain faithful to the plot, the upcoming episodes will have fans see how Eren Yeager and the remaining members of their squad try to continue with battling the Titans. In addition, Parent Herald predicts that the second season will be more action-packed than the first one, as the episodes will touch on some of the battles in the manga like Eren being abducted and Commander Erwin Smith losing an arm. According to speculations, the season may also spell doom for fan favorite Levi Ackerman.
