Apple's gold color iPhone 5S sold out within days and customers will have to wait until October to get their hands on the shiny new device.

The popularity of the gold-color smartphone has been overwhelming, with people in China turning to gold-iPhone stickers to paste over their existing iPhones.

The gold-colored iPhones 5S is sold out everywhere, and eBay users have been selling the new device for at least twice as much as its retail price on Apple.

Last week, one eBay seller sold a 16GB gold-colored iPhone 5S for a whopping $10,100 – 15 x more than the retail price of $649.

The popularity of the new gold color lead to rumors that the next iPad Mini 2 will also b revealed in the same color.

There could be some confirmation to these rumors as leaked photos show what appears to look like a gold-colored iPad Mini 2. Chinese website DoNews posted photos of what they claim to be a gold or champagne colored iPad Mini with Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Rumors also point to a new Space Gray color, which is also another color variation of the iPhone 5S as well. The new color reflects Apple's new design with anodized aluminum.

The iPad Mini 2 is expected to release alongside with the iPad 5 at an Apple event on October 15, 2013. The event is also expected to feature the all new refreshed line of Macbook Pros and Macbook Pros with Retina Display.

Apple launched its first iPad Mini device and its fourth-generation iPad in 2012 at a similar event in October so it is likely that the company will follow tradition and do the same this year.

The new iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5 are rumored to pack a A7 chip, which powers the iPhone 5S. It is also expected to feature the all new M7 chip, a motion co-processor that is also featured in the iPhone 5S. Both tablets are also expected to feature a retina display, and as mentioned before, the iPad Mini may feature a fingerprint sensor.
