From the makers of the "Mass Effect" series, the upcoming 2018 sci-fi video game "Anthem" is slated to be the biggest title coming from the BioWare, considering the long years spent by the developer to create the game. BioWare and the game publisher Electronic Arts (EA) have yet to reveal major details about its features. However, one of BioWare's staff may have accidentally spilled a huge part of "Anthem," which is the possible virtual reality (VR) support.

EA already mentioned its plans to take "Anthem" to a similar path as Activision and Bungie's popular shooter game series "Destiny." Upon the release of the action role-playing game (ARPG) in 2018, the studio intends to further expand the game to a 10-year franchise. If this news is already exciting for the players, a Reddit scoop suggests that BioWare is set to include VR content to "Anthem," as evidenced by a game writer's recent Twitter post.

As reported by Game Rant, Redditor DolphinTeethXXL posted screencaps of the tweets from BioWare writer Jay Watamaniuk. To note, Watamaniuk is the person behind BioWare's recent hits "Mass Effect 3" and "Mass Effect: Andromeda." His tweet shows a photo taken from the company's party, and by looking closely at the upper left portion of the picture, a booth with the title "Anthem VR" can be easily seen.

The existence of an "Anthem VR" booth at a BioWare party could mean a lot of things, but many fans are already convinced that it is a hint of the game's VR support. However, it is hard to speculate whether the game will have a full separate VR version, or the game itself will only have small portions with virtual reality contents.

While it is satisfying to conclude that "Anthem" will have a VR gameplay upon its launch in 2018, there is also a likelihood that the VR booth spotted at the BioWare party does not confirm anything about the studio's plans. It is possible that the booth was only built for the staff and crew present in the party, which seemed to have a semi-interactive theme.

Nevertheless, not all hopes are lost that the "Anthem" VR gameplay will not come into fruition. Another Redditor replied to DolphinTeethXXL's post, saying that a "promotional experience" with VR contents might be released in the future if BioWare sees a high demand for it. After all, among all the upcoming game titles in 2018, "Anthem" has a great potential to be showcased in VR platform.

"Anthem" is set to arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC in the fall of 2018.
