Actress Anna Faris discussed her premature delivery of son, Jack, in a recent interview. 

The now two-year-old was born two months early, and doctors were concerned for his health. 

"My water broke in the middle of the night at seven months," she told Redbook.

"We rushed to the hospital, and they were able to halt active labour with magnesium. I was at the hospital and the goal was to be in bed for four weeks... but on the seventh day, I went into labour again."

Faris, who is married to fellow actor Chris Pratt, admitted that she did not want to believe that she would give birth so early. 

"I was in denial," she said. "For hours I was like, 'I'm just having indigestion.'

"Chris and I were so scared, but then Jack came out, even though he was so tiny, he looked so good to us."

The couple was "devastated" when doctors said baby Jack would be special needs, and may need cosmetic eye surgery. But the news only drew the family closer together. 

"[It] felt like, you know, 'We can do this,'" said Faris. "It's one of those things that drives you apart or makes you closer."

The 38-year-old, who currently stars in the CBS sitcom "Mom," also reported that fatherhood looks good on her newly svelte husband. 

"I think that being a father is very meaningful and rewarding to Chris," she said. "He's a great dad. He's a little more serious than he was before. It forces your hand. You really have to become an adult."
