Nexus 10 2 release date with Android 4.4 KitKat? How to win free Nexus 7 with KitKat promotion

The new Nexus 10 2 release date is slated for a late-fall launch, around November, competing directly with Apple's iPad 5, which will be launched at a media event in October.

Although no official release date has been announced by Google, there is no doubt that the popular tablet's second generation device will be launched soon.

Last month, Wall Street Journal's Emir Efrait tweeted a hint about the device's release date. "Expect to see new 10-inch Nexus 10 Android tablet (made by @Samsung) in the near future, Google's @sundarpichai tells me."

The 10-inch tablet is rumored to feature a 1080p HD touchscreen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, and 4GB RAM. It will likely be available with the option of 32GB or 64GB.

The price of the current Nexus 10 32GB model has been reduced by many retailers in the last month as they prepare for the release of the new Nexus 10 2 stock.

The Nexus 10 2 did not launch at the IFA Berlin 2013 as hoped, but it is likely to launch in November just in time for the Black Friday sales and holiday shopping period.

The second generation tablet is being manufactured by Asus instead of Samsung. The company also manufactures the smaller Nexus 7 device.

The currently Nexus 10 features a 10-inch screen with 2560x1600 resolution in Corning Gorilla Glass 2. . It is available with 16GB or 32GB internal storage, 2 GB ram, and features Dual-core A15 processor.

The Nexus 10 2 is expected to launch with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. However, there are some rumors that the device will launch with the all new Android 4.4 KitKat.

Hershey and Nestle are currently running a large promotional campaign in the run-up to the Android 4.4 KitKat release date. KitKats shipped to stores feature promotions where consumers can win a free Nexus 7 device or $25 worth of Google Play Store credit, or a bag of KitKat minis with promo codes in the wrapper. The promotion is expected to last until the launch of the upgraded operating system.
