Many people fear the idea of doomsday. Popular media always packages the end as a scary time of tribulation, judgment, death, destruction and sorrow. While these things will be present during the day Jesus comes back, there is more cause of celebration over Jesus' return than there is cause of fear.

Even as Jesus walked here on earth, He already spoke of the time when He would come back to bring glory and full redemption to all things. As He came the first time, we have now been given new hope and joy in knowing that Jesus has now become our way to eternal life. And as beautiful as that is, it's not the best part.

The best news is that Jesus will once again return to restore everything in this broken world and make it right. When that day comes, everything will be right and all will be the way God first designed it when He created the world.

Here are eight Bible verses on the second coming of Jesus Christ and the glorious hope there is in it.

"Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done" (ESV, Revelation 22:12). (Pexels)
"Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of Him. Even so. Amen" (ESV, Revelation 1:7). (Pexels)
"But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed" (ESV, 2 Peter 3:10). (Pexels)
"Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains" (ESV, James 5:7). (Pexels)
"So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him" (ESV, Hebrews 9:28). (Pixabay)
"When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory" (ESV, Colossians 3:4). (Pexels)
"And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, 'Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw Him go into heaven'" (ESV, Acts 1:10–11). (Pexels)
"Jesus said to him, 'You have said so. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven'" (ESV, Matthew 26:64). (Pexels)
