It's amazing and yet sometimes hard to fathom how Jesus Christ's finished work on the cross gives us freedom from every sin that we may have committed in the past. But no matter what the world, the enemy or we may say, God is faithful to forgive those who put their trust in Jesus Christ for sanctification and justification.

Condemnation can be a very crippling feeling. When we feel accused of sins that may have happened in the past, we feel trapped by feelings of guilt and most often find ourselves crawling back into the same sin that we were already liberated from. Condemnation is one of Satan's number one weapons to keep us from the perfect will of God, which is reconciliation with Him.

People stuck in condemnation often think that because of their past sins, their identities are now stuck on what they have done wrong before. They look at themselves and see sinners, liars, cheaters, immoral people, addicts and even murderers. But God promises in His word that He can and has given us a way out, and that is through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Here are scriptures that assure us of the forgiveness of God and freedom from condemnation of those who put their trust and faith in Jesus Christ.

Psalm 74:2. "Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your heritage! Remember Mount Zion, where you have dwelt."

Psalm 103:12. "as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us."

Psalm 107:2-3. "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south."

Romans 6:23. "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 8:1-2. "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death."

Galatians 5:1. "For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery."

Colossians 2:13. "And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses."

1 John 1:7. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
