6 Scriptures on Experiencing God's Presence

The concept of experiencing God was something that wasn't always clear to me. I mean, if God is omnipresent, then why do we have to approach His throne and ask God for us to experience His presence?

There's nothing quite like experiencing God's presence. It's only when we are with God that there is fullness of life, and while access is given to us freely now through Christ we have a part to play in coming to His throne to experience God.

Why is that? Though God is everywhere, we're not always seeking and listening. Most of the times we're too busy to stop and be with God even though He's already with us.

The Bible declares Jesus as Emmanuel, meaning God with us, but are we with Him?

It reminds me of how it is with me and my daughter sometimes. When she has her iPad or toys around, she can sometimes forget I exist even when I'm right in front of her. We can sometimes be like my daughter, being in God's presence but not acknowledging it.

If we want to experience God, there is a need to drop all things, be still in His presence and focus on Him alone. Here are six scriptures that will help us get a better understanding of experiencing God's presence today.

John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." (Pexels)
Matthew 18:19-20 "Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them." (Stocksnap.io)
Psalm 27:4 "One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple." (Pexels)
Psalm 23:4 "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." (Pexels)
Psalm 16:11 "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." (Pexels)
Genesis 28:15 "Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." (Pexels)
