5 Bible verses on healing

You can't go through life without experiencing pain. A friend, family member, or a loved one can hurt you emotionally. Or, it can also be that you're suffering due to a medical condition or other life challenge. Whatever it is, we all need to be healed from physical and emotional pain. But, we cannot simply rely on ourselves and medical professionals to do that for us. We must always remember that Christ is the ultimate healer; He can heal us in ways no one can. Take a look at these scriptures and find encouragement to always ask God for healing.

Exodus 15:26

For I am the Lord who heals you.

This verse from Exodus is as straightforward as it gets. God said that He is the Lord and He will heal you. It's a short verse that you can easily remember when you feel depressed or down because of the pain you're feeling. Always remember that if you put your faith in the Lord, He will heal you.

Psalm 147:2

He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.

For people who have gone through a breakup or the death of a loved one, the grieving process feels like it's too much to bear. While we find ourselves seeking the company of people who love and support us, nothing will feel better than being in the company of God. Pray to Him, cry out to the Lord, and tell Him what you're feeling. God always listens and is always ready to help you heal.

Jeremiah 17:14

O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me, I will be truly saved. My praises are for you alone!

As mentioned earlier, only God is the true healer. Not only does he restore our physical health, he also restores the strength and health of our hearts and spirits. This verse from Jeremiah explains that if God chooses to heal you and save you, it will be 100 percent. God will not compromise and tell you that He will heal you a bit and it's up to you what to do next. Our God is a merciful and loving God, He will not let you endure pain more than you can handle.

Jeremiah 30:17

I will give you back your health and heal your wounds.

For those who are suffering from physical pain, find comfort in hearing this verse. Many people who are sick or suffer from a serious health condition often rely on medicine and treatment to get better. While that also helps, one must not forget to pray to the Lord for healing. The truth is, the Lord is a miracle worker. Nothing is impossible with Him.

Matthew 11:28-29

Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

For more encouragement, read this verse over and over again. Jesus said that everyone with heavy hearts should go to Him so He can give you rest. Jesus said this, not the disciples. It is important to remember this verse because of two things. First, it is to serve as a reminder that Christ is always ready to heal you and help you with your burdens. And apart from the healing, Jesus will also let us rest from all the pain and hurt we're feeling. Run to Him and He will be there waiting for you.

Life doesn't always turn out the way we hoped it would, but that is life for us. God has made plans for everyone, even before we were born. We must trust in His plans, that our suffering and pain are also part of our life story. At first, we may not understand why we had to go through what we go through. But once you've been completely healed, you'll see the purpose in all of it... and it's beautiful.
