Advent from Young Oceans climbs iTunes chart

Young Oceans has scored a hit with their new EP, Advent.

Within 24 hours of its release this week, the EP climbed to number 5 on the iTunes Christian and Gospel albums chart.

It follows the rock band's self-titled debut and was completed despite hitting upon a few challenges, including Hurricane Sandy.

Recording sessions were delayed when the hurricane caused the studio in the Brooklyn area of New York to lose power and commuting became impossible.

"From the heartache and sorrow we all experience, to the seemingly endless groans of creation, we are reminded that even we who have the firstfruits of the Spirit often experience life as a mystifying narrative," the band said.

"With that in mind, our intent was to present these songs with purity and beauty, but also with an honest representation of the veil we're peering through.

"So, we share this music with humility and expectation, linking our hearts with our Lord Jesus, resting in the wondrous gift of the first Advent, waiting, and longing for the second."

Alongside the release of their EP, Young Oceans want to help fans get the most out of the Advent season by posting daily devotionals and Scriptures on their Facebook and Twitter pages, and their website.
