The Bible repeatedly tells all the faithful to trust in the Lord God with all that they have. We trust God for our salvation, redemption, deliverance and protection. We entrust our very lives to Him, because He is the only one who is trustworthy enough and powerful enough to save us through and through.

Yet, despite the immense power, unfathomable kindness, and immeasurable riches that God has for us, some of us are still unable to trust in God with our lives – some of us still attempt to do things our way, with our strength and wisdom.

Friends, I want to invite you to a journey of trusting God with all that you have. Here are some reasons why we should trust Him.

1. He's a good, good Father

Simply put, we can trust God because He is good. This truth alone is quite hard to understand at times because we don't have anybody to model being good because "There is none righteous, no, not one" (see Romans 3:10). The Lord Jesus Himself said that "only God is truly good" (see Luke 18:19).

But truth be told, friends, if we want to find something good in this life, we've got to trust God. He's the only one proven to be good. And because He is a good Father to us who are in Christ, we can trust Him even more.

2. He doesn't actually need what you have – and thus won't steal from you

Contrary to how those who don't know God perceive Him, God is not a killjoy. Neither does He take away from His people to make them miserable. He's the Giver of all good gifts, and there's no other gift-Giver aside from Him. (see Matthew 7:11; James 1:17)

Aside from that, God doesn't steal from us. Yes, He "gives and takes away" (see Job 1:21), but it's not because He covets what we have. Rather, He wants us to focus on Him instead of what we have, and when we have Him, we have everything. Psalm 16:2 tells us, "I say to the Lord, 'You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.'"

God tells us in Psalm 50:12, "If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness." Let's believe that. "My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life." (see John 10:10b)

3. He has more in store for you

Friends, if we try to achieve things on our own, we will only reach so much. Trusting in God and pursuing Him with all that we have, however, yields more than what we could ever dream of.

1 Corinthians 2:9 tells us, "But, as it is written, 'What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.'"
