It didn't look certain for a while but fans of Sister Wives can breathe a sigh of relief as the show has actually been renewed for a season 12.

The hit TLC reality show about Kody Brown and his four 'sister wives' survived the cancellation block despite a dip in ratings during season 11.

It's just as well for fans of the show as there's still a lot going on with this large family and plenty of highlights to look forward to in the next season.

Fans have taken a keen interest in Mariah's life after she came out as a lesbian, while Maddie and Caleb Brush have been raising their baby boy Axel.

The big brood could also be about to get bigger if Mykelti and Antonio Padron get pregnant now that they filled up the 365 days of waiting requested by Kody.

Then there's the recent engagement announcement by Aspyn - Christine's daughter - and Mitch Thompson.  So fans will be hoping that their wedding day - rumored to take place in June - is a feature of the next season.

"We've followed the Browns through plenty of ups and downs, but their story is far from over. We're excited to share that Sister Wives will return to TLC to continue following the journey of the Brown family," the network said in a statement

Meanwhile, Meri Brown - who was involved in a Catfish scandal - has officially denied rumors that she is leaving the Brown family.

Even members of the Brown family speculated that she might leave the family to focus on her bed and breakfast business.  Seems like the marriage therapy she and Kody were seen attending together last season paid off as she shut down the rumors on Twitter, insisting that she was sticking with her family and would block anyone on social media who claimed otherwise.

"Already starting the night with a blocking spree! Come on guys, I have a family, I'm not bailing! Sheesh!!" the 47-year-old tweeted.
