Awakening UK 2006 will kick off next Saturday 2 September at Carberry Tower Estate just outside Edinburgh.

According to the website, Awakening UK is a "wonderful opportunity for all generations within the Church to come together as family and enjoy great worship, teaching, fellowship, feasting and fun for the whole day."

This year, Ruth Graham, dynamic preacher and daughter of legendary evangelist Billy Graham, will speak at the event.

Seeking to minister God's merciful grace and restoration to those who are hurting and alone, Ruth Graham is expected to provide a new and Biblical perspective to her faithful journey as a Christian. She will reflect on the ordinary trials she's faced, her divorce, her teenage daughter's pregnancies and the experience of returning to school at age 40, all part of her journey of faith.

The event will also invite speaker Mark Stibbe, youth pastor John Nix from the U.S., and guest host Senior Pastor Karl Martin of a growing church in the city of Edinburgh.

Worship will be led by Scottish praise leader Andrew Mitchell, Lou Fellingham with Phatfish, and Ian White.

Organised by Christian company ‘Veritas Partnership’, Awakening UK is held in association with UCB and ministers from major churches across the UK.
