Christian Missionary in Kashmir Deported from India

New Delhi – According to news source, a Christian missionary, doing ministry in Indian Held Kashmir as head of several prominent educational institutions since 1963, has been asked to leave the country immediately failing which action under the Foreigners' Act would be taken against him.

Father Jim Borst, head of the Mill Hill Mission, and the Principal of Burn Hall School (Srinagar) and St Joseph's School (Baramula), has been asked by the Foreigners' Registration Office, Indian-Held Kashmir, to leave the valley after his visa was not renewed, reported a local news agency of India.

The Foreigners' Registration office in Srinagar said he had been informed that his application for extension of visa in India beyond September 2, 2003, had not been granted. He had thus been directed to leave the state within seven days, added the office.
