Velasquez to Launches Record Label

Contemporary Christian artist Jaci Velasquez announced her plans to launch her own record label, Apostrophe Records. "I want Apostrophe to be a label driven by artists and songs, not just by what a marketing machine needs in order to sell, sell, sell," she said.

Apostrophe's first release will be Michael Cook's debut album Imprint, which is due sometine in 2004. "I didn't want to start a label until I found an artist that I truly believed in and wanted to promote," said Velasquez.

The small label team runs Apostrophe and key management team includes Velesquez's brother and mother. "My goal now is to take what He has given me and reach out to help others in their dreams." Their official launch will be during GMA week this year.
